New Chess Champion!

Eric Barkmeyer is Telluride's new Chess Champion! Cutting through the competition to rise victorious, here we see him after the final crowned with his $50 bill.

THere were 24 players this round--our highest level of participation. Thanks to everyone who came.

The final was held between Eric Barkmeyer and Mike Stein. Former Champion, and Chess prodigy, Grayson Zulauf stumbled during the quarter-finals, losing to Chris Cody.

The final was held on Saturday at Two Candles in Norwood, CO, for the convenience of the players. WPL Program Coordinator Ben Williams was on hand to deliver the grand prize and congratulate the winner.

The next Chess Championship will be in June. Get playing, get practising, and win the title and $50 cash prize!
